Living your best life is a catchphrase that’s often bandied about but what does it really mean? In terms of location, design and lifestyle, Le Nouvel KLCC embodies all these—in superlative terms.
Located right next to the Petronas Twin Towers, Le Nouvel KLCC mirrors the iconic towers with an architectural masterpiece in its own right. Developed by Wing Tai Asia, the prime site was entrusted to no less than Jean Nouvel. The French architect who won architecture’s highest accolade, The Pritzker Prize, is a genius at articulating the relationship of his brilliant works within the context of their respective environments.
Landmark projects like the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Paris Philharmonic Hall have reinforced his mastery and Nouvel has also delivered another project for Wing Tai Asia, in Le Nouvel Ardmore which is located at one of Singapore’s most exclusive addresses, 1A Ardmore Park.
For Kuala Lumpur, Nouvel created two biophilic towers (49 and 43-storeys respectively) that showcase the bold, architectural style the acclaimed architect has become synonymous with. Its striking façade of glass and steel has become a living breathing natural habitat for 820 vertical planters and more than 220 plant species.
Presenting the highest vine biodiversity on a high rise building, this lush Eden was masterminded by Nouvel in collaboration with Patrick Blanc, the inventor of the vertical garden. Elevating Le Nouvel’s distinctive façade further is award-winning lighting designing firm, L’Observatoire International’s custom-designed illumination, who are celebrated for their inventive interpretation of light.
Le Nouvel KLCC’s interiors are as inspiring and to tease out their possibilities, interior designer, Koichiro Ikebuchi was commissioned to create a show unit. Well known for crafting interiors that evoke contemplation and an innate empathy with the environment, this Singapore President’s Design Award winner’s all-white space is a sophisticated sanctuary.
Totalling 195 luxurious apartments, only the finest brands were chosen to complete the units. Style and function share equal billing in the kitchens which all come equipped with top-of-the-line Poggenpohl kitchens and Miele appliances, both of German origin. Wardrobes are sleek and move-in ready with stylish built-ins by renowned Italian brand, Lema.
The ‘hardware’ of Le Nouvel KLCC is matched with a privileged lifestyle afforded by thoughtfully curated facilities. The towers are connected by a 30-tonne sky bridge on level 34 which offer uninterrupted views of the KL skyline. This level including its 23m span is home to the business lounge, concierge and private dining area with a cigar/wine lounge.
Designed by top designers, Saporiti Italia, these elegant spaces are ideal for intimate gatherings of all sizes. One of the spaces features ceiling art which pays homage to the glass frit patterns found on the curtain wall by French multi-media artist, Marie Maillard. Maillard’s frit patterns depicting the leaf patterns which echo the vertical green façade. Maillard’s artwork was digitised by Japanese graphic artist Hiroshi Maeda.
Le Nouvel KLCC’s location needs no introduction. So close you can almost touch the Twin Towers, the KLCC area is also a hive of activity with cafes, restaurants, bars and nightlife to suit every taste and readily available around the clock. Retail therapy is available with Suria KLCC, Avenue K and the Shoppes at Four Seasons literally right at your doorstep.
Cultural pursuits are plentiful with the Dewan Philharmonic, the home of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and art gallery Ilham just opposite the road. Venturing further afield is just as easy with the LRT Station just steps away which connects you easily to the KL Sentral transport hub catch your flight at KLIA International Airport.
A project so singular, it bears its creator’s name, Le Nouvel KLCC is where art and design meet practicality and liveability in the heartbeat of Kuala Lumpur.
